***Please note that there are currently spaces available in Recorder Club starting in February 2012.  This presents a good opportunity to try out the classes for a few weeks, with classes priced at only £2.50 per session for professional tuition.  This is a good chance for P3 pupils who are learning recorder in school to get some additional professional tution, and for pupils in P4-7 to join in either of the two classes at the appropriate level (beginner or with some experience). • About the Club
  

The Recorder Club is open to all children in P3 – P7 and is taught by Mrs Fiona Gilroy.  Although pupils usually start to learn the recorder in P3, it’s never too late to learn and a beginners’ class could be run for P5 – P7, if there was enough interest.  Please note that parents may be required to help with Recorder Club on a rota basis.  No musical knowledge/ability is required.

Classes timings are yet to be confirmed but classes are expected to start on Tues 20th September.  The club co-ordinator will contact you nearer the time with the timings of the classes.  Classes last 30 minutes and take place on  Tuesdays during the lunch hour (12.30-13.30) in the Main Building.

• Application Process and Fees

If your child/children would like to come along to Recorder Club please complete the specific Recorder Club application form below.  Remember to complete the slip even if your child attended the club last year.  The fees are payable by the term and are proportional to the number of children who attend so exact fee information will only be available from Monday 5th September (fees are anticipated to be around £2.50 per session). Recorders and music books can be bought through the club at around £8 and £4 respectively.  Cheques are preferred and should be made payable to Dean Park PTA.  The application form should be returned to the School Office by Friday 2nd September in an envelope marked for the attention of the Recorder Club Co-ordinator.

If you have not heard from the club co-ordinator please assume that your child has a place.

Payment for subsequent terms will be collected by the club co-ordinator at the start of each term or alternatively a cheque can be returned to the School  Office marked for the attention of the club co-ordinator.

We would like to respectfully remind parents of the discipline code that is applied to all clubs and would like to emphasise that all clubs are for children who are interested in the activity.  The provision of any club is subject to sufficient interest, and we reserve the right to withdraw a club if enrolment numbers are low.
