- About the Club
Karate classes for girls and boys in P1 – P7, are proving very popular. The class instructor , Peter Rogers 5th Dan, already runs a number of popular children’s Karate classes around Edinburgh and is a member of the Scottish Karate Federation.
Children’s Karate classes aren’t just for fun, fitness and self defence, the classes also focus on:
- Teaching respect for self and others by focusing on problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Developing quicker reflexes and reaction skills
- Maintaining attention and sustained concentration
- Building flexibility, balance and core strengh in the upper and lower body
- Training for sport Karate kata and sparring competitions
As with other PTA clubs there may be a need for parents to help out by being present (no participation required!) once each term on a rota basis.
