Art

  • About the Club
This club suits children who love to draw, paint and dabble with craft stuff – and to try out new materials and techniques: puppet-making, marbling, t-shirt painting, clay modelling, junk modelling as well as drawing and painting – messy stuff they may not get to do at home!  Lots of creativity, lots of mess, lots of fun.

The club is open to P1-7 pupils and runs on a Tuesday 4-5pm.  At only £3.00 per session it really is fantastic value.

The club relies on a parent helper to assist the tutor each week.  Those carers who are able to help us in this way will be issued with a duty rota at the start of term (nb. the duty commitment is no more than once or twice a term).  If anyone is unable to help on their allocated day they should arrange a swap.

Autumn term:  If your child/children would like to come along to Art Club please complete the PTA club application form below.  Remember to complete the slip even if your child attended the club last year.    The cheque should be returned with the application form to the School Office by Friday 2nd September.  The Art Club Co-ordinator will confirm your child’s place.

Subsequent terms:  If your child is an existing member and wishes to continue at the club, you must confirm this with the club co-ordinator by the end of each term.  Payment should be handed in to the school office by the first class of term.  If your child is not a member but would like to join, please contact the club co-ordinator to check availability.

We would like to respectfully remind parents of the discipline code that is applied to all clubs and would like to emphasise that all clubs are for children who are interested in the activity.  The provision of any club is subject to sufficient interest, and we reserve the right to withdraw a club if enrolment numbers are low.

Art Club members have great fun making lots of fab things using different materials including puppets, marbling, t-shirt painting, clay modelling, junk modelling and many others as well as drawing and painting – lots of messy things they may not get to do at home!

We will  have a new tutor, Ros Brown, this year and we are hoping to open the club to the P1’s if there is enough interest. There would only be 5 places available to P1 due to the tutor/pupil ratio so if your child would be interested please contact the club coordinator, Caroline Anderson.

The club meets on Tuesdays in the Compass Playgroup room at the Main Building from 3.30-4.30pm.

If your child/children would like to come along to Art Club please complete the PTA club application form and return it to the school office by Friday 5 September.  Remember to complete the slip even if your child attended the club last year.  If you have not heard from the club co-ordinator please assume that your child has a place.
